Meet the Founder

A note From Tom Harrison

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
— Isaiah 61:1-3

The History

I am most thankful for the pastor, youth minister and countless laity that encouraged me in the Lord during my youth.  I grew up in South Florida and my family did not attend church. A couple of teenagers invited me to attend their church in Fort Lauderdale. As a result I came to know Christ as my Lord and Savior.
As I grew in my faith and trust of Jesus, I began to realize that He had a plan and a purpose for every single person on the face of the earth; and He desired to know and have fellowship with each one. My junior year in high school I went on a mission trip to Cali Columbia and Quito Ecuador. It was there that God solidified his call in my life to minister to all peoples of the earth. God blessed me and provided a way for me to go to college and then to seminary.
In 2002, after ministering in the local church for 20 plus years, a group of believers got together and decided they wanted to begin to fund my ministry beyond the walls of the church, to the community and to the world. They brought together resources and Tom Harrison Pastoral Ministries began as a 501(c)(3).

The Vision

Through the years God has been faithful in providing finances and we have had the great opportunity to fulfill Isaiah 61. God has allowed us to financially assist many students, either through tuition or books and laptops,  attend and graduate from college and seminary; in addition we have funded afterschool ministries and encouraged the broken and disenfranchised. We have helped missionaries around the world with needs to form platforms for ministry, tools, supplies and food.
Tom Harrison Pastoral ministries has provided funds to single moms, to unwed mothers and has even provided the funds for the birth of a child. We paid the deductible for a woman who needed surgery.
Three years ago we were informed of the need for an addiction center in Mexico, but no funds were available. We approached our donors and the financial support was raised, plus three years of operating expenses.
God has given us great opportunities. We continue to see Him bringing people together in order to advance the gospel. Together we can reach the world and disciple others who will in turn disciple others. I hope that you will consider a contribution to reach the world for Christ.
